#1: un viaggio di mille miglia comincia sempre con il primo passo

Ragazzi! Avevo in mente un lungo
discorso per cominciare questo post, ma poi era talmente lungo che c'era più
testo che illustrazione, ed ho deciso di suddividere tutte le parole che avevo
in testa in ordinati mucchietti. Comincerò quindi col nocciolo della questione,
inaugurando con questo post un nuovo progetto per il 2013. Ho deciso
infatti di darmi un tema su cui lavorare settimanalmente, condividendo con voi
i risultati, e sbirciando indietro i risultati ottenuti! La scelta è
ricaduta sul pattern, tema dalle infinite possibilità creative a me molto caro:
vorrei realizzare almeno 50 diversi pattern, esplorando tutte le possibilità
del mezzo e pensando quali applicazioni dei motivi creati potrebbe rendere un
oggetto più speciale. Sono felice di condividere con chi vorrà il
materiale pubblicato: nel caso vogliate usarli o riportarli altrove, due righe
di messaggio e la citazione dell’autore saranno (oltre che giuste) più che
gradite. Questa introduzione suona molto meno aulica ma molto più realistica,
ma meglio così: è il momento di rimboccarsi le maniche e lanciare il primo
esperimento!

everybody! I had a long text ready to start this post, but then it was so long
and vast that I decided to cut it short, leaving more space to the illustration
itself and postponing the other parts to some other time. Well, I decided
to take up a year-long project, covering 2013 and aming to improve my
determination and drawing skills. The
theme I chose to work is related to PATTERNS: something that I really love! To me a
pattern is something that can really dress an object, providing that extra
(emotional) bit that makes it special and also can be the first step to an
affective and emotional bond to the object itself. I feel patterns have
lots of possibilities ready to be explored! and that's exactly what I want to
do: in the following year I'd like to release on this blog at least 50
different patterns, and possibily match them with some object I think would go
well with it! Last,
I’m OK with the idea of you downloading/using the patterns you’ll find. Just,
if you do, please drop a quick line to inform me, and report the author’s name!
Fair enough nah? So,
hands on now, and we go with the firs experiment!
